This year’s trip on Thursday 20th July will be to Kelmscott Manor, the summer retreat of designer William Morris (`father of the arts and crafts movement’) and his family and friends. We will also pay a short visit to Hill Barn Farm in Broadway, the home of Cotswold Lavender.

The SCAS AGM also took place recently. To view our annual report for 2014-2015, which was read out at the AGM, please visit our Annual Reviews page.
At the SCAS AGM, we heard an update about The Gables Hotel, on London Road, the fate of which has been uncertain for some time.
“Another proposed development causing concern to members was the change of use of part of The Gables Hotel, 368 London Road, from Hotel to Retail, i.e. Coop “Convenience Store”. The Planning Application notice had appeared in May 2015. Comments on the application had to be in before 26/05/2015 and DO encouraged members to write their own letters of objection to the Planning Department. He said SCAS had already objected on the grounds of traffic problems and also that such a development would be a total lowering of standards in the residential and conservation area of Stoneygate.”
If you would like to object to the planning application, please do so by 26 May 2015. You can see the application and submit comments here. If you would like to object, please explicitly state this, so your comments are recorded as such.
