Photographic database of Stoneygate
The Conservation and Nature Team at Leicester City Council are currently carrying out a photographic survey of all properties within the Stoneygate Conservation Area. The project will last approx 4 weeks from the beginning of July and will involve taking photographs of the front elevation of all buildings which will then become part of a formal database tracking changes within the Conservation Area. The database will only be accessible by staff employed within the Planning Department and the images would be used to support evidence in planning enforcement cases and appeals. This project was proposed and supported by the Stoneygate Conservation Area Society and by Sir Peter Soulsby MP. It will give the City Council a stronger basis for preserving the historic character of this important area.
